It's what an Italian restaurant should be: cozy, dimly lit, and appetizing. I can't judge a place for being too small unless it interferes with my ability to comfortably enjoy my dinner. The two of us had plenty of space at the high tops on the left. The small size keeps the Olive Garden and Carrabbas patrons where they belong.

Still so very, very good. More than one restaurant in Gainesville should take a hint--smaller menu + smaller venue + personable wait staff + well-prepared food = smiles. Lots of places get three of the four. Fresco always seems to do all four right. Everyone I've brought here has been very pleasantly surprised that a place like this was hiding in town right under their noses.

My salad was fresh and crispy, with the most delicious and rich balsamic vinaigrette I have had the pleasure of enjoying in a long, long time. The balsamic was thick and syrupy and seemed of excellent quality. I took the liberty of dipping my delicious garlic bread into the dressing. The service was friendly and attentive, and the meal was nice and delicious. I would love to come back if I'm back in the area!

Fresco does not pretend to be some huge chain with a disney-like concept. It’s a locally owned and staffed gem. The dishes are awesome and the staff is delightful! ...I’ll be back

I just ate the most amazing Mediterranean meal I've eaten since that small hidden alley restaurant somewhere in Firenze. Fresco really does it well, with the friendly and genuine service (to start), the appropriate amount of attention, a perfectly-sized menu, and the food. Ah, the food. I ordered the Calamari Costner and my mouth is still watering from how delicious it was; loaded with lots of every part of the calamari, earning the dish its name. Perfect amount of spice, great balance of capers and Kalamata olives. So nice to finally eat at a restaurant where a chef appreciates another way to prepare calamari than "fried" and where it's done so well that people may learn to appreciate it prepared this way. Absolutely wonderful. In addition, the house salad with honey vinaigrette was delightfully refreshing and the house-style garlic pointes were a lovely touch. All around a fantastic experience.
